Involved the use of Direct Laser Interference Patterning and Hot Embossing technologies to create samples, as well as the study of the resulting properties. I was able to work with a specialized Water Contact Angle machine as well as with confocal microscopes from TUD’s facilities.

I studied most subjects in German, and many were taught by teachers from the Institute of Manufacturing Science and Eng. from the TUD, as part of the Maschinenbau Diplom. I focused some optional subjects on laser technologies and HVAC processes. After studying Laser precision machining in the Winter Semester, I was offered the opportunity by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrés F. Lasagni to work with him and his team to complete my thesis. To that purpose, I dedicated more than 120h at their laboratories.

Fourteen subjects (Financial Management, Manufacturing Systems, Human Resources, Energy Sources, Project Planning, and Transport Engineering, amongst others) in one academic year that gave me further expertise, with a high weekly workload.

It provided me with solid formation and knowledge on a range of engineering fields. Personally, it made me continuously modify the way of sorting things out depending on the situation.
