In August 2013 the former ST-Ericsson joint venture was closed down and the modem development got integrated with Ericsson as business unit Modem. Here I got the opportunity to the role of an Operation Area Manager / Operational Product Owner for embedded software development with focus on LTE Layer 1 and Layer 2 with a team of 15 SW Development and Verification Engineers. We apply AGILE work methodologies such as Feature Driven Development, Scrum and Kanban.

In November 2012 I took over the organizational responsibility for a team of 12 Software development engineers in the area of LTE Physical Layer. The team focuses on the services and procedures offered to higher layer and on the processing of channels for uplink.

In October 2011 I took a new position as Deputy Project Manager for Embedded Software Development in mobile platforms with focus on LTE Layer 1. The project was a multi-site project (Germany, Sweden) with 5 international project teams consisting of 50 engineers from architecture, control software, DSP software and functional verification.

Coordinated a team of 7 Software Design Engineers with the mission to o Secure early verification of LTE physical layer features on a virtual platform and on prototype hardware facilitating digital IQ interfaces o Secure software quality by means of static code analysis and regression testing

In my position as Software Integration Engineer I worked with the LTE Network Signaling stack for a mobile phone prototype and later for a single mode LTE commercial product. During this time I had the functional responsibility for a team of 4 to 6 engineers. Integration means that Layer 1 and Layer 2/3 software is compiled together, then shortly verified that the required functionality is met and provided to the verification team.

I started with Ericsson in 1996 within a trainee program for Wireline Telecom customer services. Then I worked both in on-site and remote customer support for Wireline Operators in Germany. Later in 1999 I moved to customer services for GSM mobile core networks. In 2002 I joined the customer services team for WCDMA Radio Access Networks.
