Investigated the role of LeishIF4E-3 in the life cycle of parasite using CRISPR-Cas9 system. Performed wet-lab work using molecular cloning, site directed mutagenesis, confocal microscopy, affinity purification, proteomic & flow cytometry analyses and RNA sequencing.

Developed molecular assay for oral squamous cell carcinoma diagnosis from saliva. Independently designed and optimized stem loop primers for real time PCR to detect miRNAs in saliva. Assisted in writing grant that was submitted to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India

Investigated the neuroprotective potential of novel small anti-inflammatory molecules in the mouse models of Parkinson’s disease Utilised skills in cell culture, RNAi, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, stereological cell counting and HPLC. Data generated resulted in small funding from a non-government investor. Assisted in writing grants that were submitted to UK funding agencies.

Investigated the association between SNPs and imatinib plasma concentration in chronic phase CML by therapeutic drug monitoring (HPLC) and using PCR, RFLP, sequencing. Individually established and optimized lab protocols for SNP genotyping. Took part in counselling patients to collect blood samples for study. Lab management (indenting and following up orders). Trained undergraduate students
