After successfully centralizing the EMEA Credit & Collections department into the UK from several regional offices in 2002/03 I relocated from the UK to Germany in 2004. It was decided that opening a shared service centre in Germany would benefit the company and during the summer of 2004 we under went an ambitious plan to open the shared service centre, implement the new Sarbanes-Oxley process and procedures and upgrade our IT system in the space of 4 months.
