I manage a Public & Government Affairs team that provides strategic advice, counsel and management support. This includes working in the areas of community investment, media relations, emergency preparedness, branding, government relations, stakeholder engagement and corporate communications.

Serve a city of 33,000 people as a member of the elected City Council. Currently serve as Chair of the Finance Committee, and as a member of the Police Committee, Disaster Services Committee, Calgary Regional Partnership and Assessment Review Board.

Ran an independent publc relations and stakeholder engagement consulting practice that supported government agencies, energy companies, not-for-profit organizations, community groups and elected officials.

Worked for the Canadian affiliates of Exxon Mobil Corporation and Mobil Corporation where I supported the company's Canadian operations and employees, and was a leading spokesperson for the company. I also led efforts on a number of emotional / high profile or difficult public consultation projects.

Senior political aide to a Canadian Member of Parliament. Lead media contact, senior strategist, conducted research, wrote newsletters and outreach pieces and developed speaking materials for a variety of audiences.

Provided support to a new Canadian political party in the area of communications, member relations. Prepared letters and responses for party and prospective members, conducted research as required and assisted in a variety of logistics, communications and support capacities.
