I focused on the synthesis and characterization of nitrogen-donor carboxylic acid ligands (NCALs) and their FeII complexes, exploring their potential for spin transition activity. I investigated the formation of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of these molecules on silver-modified gold surfaces. My research aimed at exploring potential nanoscale applications, such as coordinating metal ions onto pre-existing NCAL layers or anchoring organic ligands and transition metal complexes onto surfaces.
