Thomas Galpin

I currently help edit texts for one client and have recently done work for two other clients. The texts are in English. I either work with the client or alone. It has not been my main source of income but I am hoping to make it so. I am a good and conscientious writer.

I taught English learners here in Berlin doing lessons in grammar, vocabulary, reading or conversation. I also helped with interview preparation and application forms.

I assisted the Mircrobiology Department on MRSA (a superbug) -related research and auditing. It was a short-term contract, looking chiefly at the cost-efectiveness of new high cost technology (PCR-based screening) and comparing it to an older cheaper method (agar gel-based screening).

I worked with the environment, health and safety officer at the Springfields plant as a student for one year on a student placement programme called the Year in Industry. I helped to store the data from safety checks relating to hazardous substances used in manufacture, and to instigate follow-up testing if necessary.

Completed at the University of Central Lancashire in 2009 after a long period of illness.
