Reported to the CEO and Board of Managers of a $1 billion privately held IPP with approx. 2,000 Mws of generation (natural gas & renewable). Direct responsibility for $200 million annual gross margins, dispatching facilities, and manage all the company’s hedging, origination, development, and commercial external affairs. Managed a group of 20 people setting the vision and high expectations to deliver consistent risk adjusted returns.

Reported to the partners of a $420mm private equity fund; on mkt fundamentals that drive short & long-term valuations of generation development & acquisition. Presented detailed acquisition & development opportunities to the investment committee (enter/exit pricing, capital structure, market drivers). A key member of the team that presented to S & P for bond ratings on projects, an expert in developing non-standard and standard hedge/PPA products to enable financing of projects (Renewable & Natural Gas).

Focus on Asset Management of third party power supply, load and generation (Approx. 18,500Mws) in regions across the US, with annual fees of $16 million dollars. Make recommendations on hedging strategies for various load profiles, generation output, and fuel procurement. Goal is to ensure budgeted cash flows and business plan targets are met. Included in the product offerings to customers are renewable, power, natural gas, ancillary services, generation dispatch, and FTRs/CRRs.

Responsible for managing a group of traders that had individual risk books and priced full requirement wholesale and retail load transactions. Presented to executive management weekly on risks and performance including making recommendations to maximize returns within proper risk parameters.

Led a team that was responsible for managing 5,500MWs base load, cycling, and peaking units (coal, oil, gas) with a budget of $700mm. Implemented risk management strategies leveraging 2,300MWs of natural gas plants in California.

Profitably traded fixed income securities, built a money market Repo matchbook of $1.5 billion, and managed a middle market fixed income/currency EFP desk.
