Dr. Abhilasha Ojha

I am currently working on a project that aims to understand the physiological roles of the membrane protein of neurons that are involved in smell. My responsibilities include designing and management of experiments for the project, writing scientific protocols and reports, data analysis and interpretation, preparation of results for scientific publications, presentation of the scientific work, and the development and implementation of research tools. I am also involved in teaching to the medicine students.

I worked as a research scientist to understand the physiological role of membrane proteins of the starlet sea anemone that is involved in sending/receiving signals to/from the nervous system. My main duties involved handling collaborative and multidisciplinary projects, acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of the data, preparation of scientific manuscripts, and presentation of scientific data. I was also involved in designing small projects for master students and teaching medicine students.

My project was to find out the relation between ligand binding and channel gating in muscle-type nicotinic acetylcholine receptors using a high-end technique called patch-clamp fluorometry. My expertise includes project management, data analysis and interpretation, writing scientific papers and presentation of the data.
