Job responsibilities includes: • Strategy & guidelines development for all Markets in Core, Transport and Service enablers and cross technology areas • Technology Budget planning, M&As, business analysis and feasibility studies. • Supporting Regulatory & public policy technically, especially on Net Neutrality • Network architecture and solutions design • Network and customer security solutions

Led and defined the Smart Network strategy and future architecture as a strategic building block for increasing operators’ relevance to the customers. Carried the responsibility of managing and driving innovation across all Networks and R&D. Defined the basis for traffic reporting KPIs across all Markets in the Group Led the creation of the 3 years Network Guidance and key special strategic and techno-economic projects (e.g. site profitability, CDN economics, Video Strategy, MTX consolidation).

Led the development of strategies and guidelines in the areas of Core, Services, transport, international fixed network and operations. Managed a virtual team of 12 experts in budget planning to provide business and technical analysis to Group Finance to set the Vodafone-wide budget targets. Developed and defined the cost models for network architectural impacts and built the foundation of business case analysis for data networks.

Led the detailed development and creation of 5 years guidelines in the areas of Core, Services, transport, fixed and detailed budget planning reviews for 18 Local Markets. Performed end to end analysis of all network domains for Top 5 Vodafone markets. Developed the financial and economic analysis of various projects and across different teams (IPTV, LTE, Fixed Mobile convergence, HSxPA cost model, savings initiatives)

Led the development and creation of a global planning model that was used to assess all the local market capacity and resilience planning covering all Circuit Switch (CS) and signalling domains. Designed MSC in pool architecture and contributed to key CS RFQs (fixed mobile integration and Bearer Independent Core Networks). Worked with different markets to review their design standards and capacity planning, and delivered significant savings

Developed the strategy and plan for Vodafone Egypt move to R4 split architecture, move to all IP and SIGTRAN. Participated in the Global IMS team defining the system Architecture, technical requirements, testing specs, RFI, RFQ and supplier selection for IMS. Supported 3G Network deployment in Egypt and associated strategies in relation to the packet Core evolution. Taken the role of VF-EG SPOC in various Group discussions related to all the Core Networks and transport domains

Developed VF-EG Core , BSCs, IN and transport 3 years plan. Created the first capacity calibration tool to predict real Network capacity. Developed Core transmission links forecast tools to plan for transmission expansions for all Core Networks. Discovered the first challenger for the suppliers’ commercial models and added the foundation of software transfers worldwide. Led the switch sites rationalisation and closure plans. Started the foundation of DR/BC planning initiatives in Vodafone Egypt’s Networks

Led the business requirements analysis for large manufacturers, hotel chains and commercial organisations. Took the end to end responsibility of software quality verification and first line support with deep experience on databases structures and system construction

Development of quality control databases for Sainsbury super markets chains in Egypt. Database reports were considered among the best reports produced worldwide.
