PhD Magna Cum Laude (1,3) at the Max-Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (Department of new materials and biosystems) developing a method to stretch gold nano-pattened PEG hydrogels and to perform microscope videos of living cells on them. Interdisciplinary field of biophysics with a focus on Nanotechnology, Surface Characterisation, Polymer Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microscopy and data analysis in programmable environments (ImageJ and MatLab).

Leading of a R&D project on surfactants formulation focused on improving the quality and consumer response of a daily use product. I postulated a hypothesis, developed an experimental method and processed the results to build a chemical model allowing the prediction of consumer response based on simple parameters. I defended my model in front of my business area obtaining a positive hiring recommendation. I learned to work in a team, to cope with uncertainty and improved my communication skills.

Internship by B.A.S.F. Aktiengesellschaft Ludwigshafen (Germany) in the “Biologie und mollekular Biotechnologie” department leading an R&D project on optimization of Aldol and Ketone reactions. I worked in a laboratory with other technicians and was in charge of putting into practice and further developing an initial proposal of my boss. This time I could widen up the repertoire of techniques I was proficient in as well as consolidated my working skills in a foreign language
