Daphne Vitsikounaki

I joined the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs after completion of two years' vocational studies at the National School of Public Administration. I worked initially in the Ministry's Directorate for international economic organizations. I then participated in a structural traineeship program at the Directorate General for External Relations of the European Commission in Brussels. Thereafter I was appointed at the Consulate General of Greece in Munich as commercial attaché.

Planning and organization of the international aeronautical telecommunication network of the Greek Civil Aviation Authority, coordination of relevant actions with respective authorities of partner countries Representation of Greece in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Future Planning Group for the modernization of the international aeronautical telecommunication network, I contributed to determining and drafting the Greek position related to the activities of this Working Group.

Managed projects of EU-funded research programmes in the field of telecommunications and information technology, with focus on tele-medicine and tele-education, was responsible for the technical aspects of the projects as well as budgeting and monitoring. Drafted project proposals, located partners for participation in future projects, participated in related scientific conferences, organized meetings with European project partners in Greece.

Designed and tested software used by the digital telephony exchanges AXE-10 of Ericsson, modified and adapted existing software in order to meet specific requirements of various customer markets.
