Helen Fowler

Organizer and activist on behalf of the "Sisters Organize for Survival" campaign of Seattle Radical Women (www.radicalwomen.org), which successfully maintained Washington's Basic Health subsidization program in the 2009 state budget. Activities included coordinating with various legislators' offices, public speaking, testifying at legislative hearings, writing press releases, and assisting in public event coordination and organizing.

Conducted research regarding the overuse, privatization, and possible contamination of North Texas aquifers. Networked with local natural resource management, government, and press.

Organized the "Day of Mass Resistance" demonstration in Phoenix, Arizona on October 6, 2006, entailing coordinating with Phoenix Police Department, contacting local groups, distributing information regarding place and time, ensuring safety of participants.

Arranged and supervised screenings of the documentary film "Invisible Children" and was lead coordinator in Phoenix for the "Global Night Commute" demonstration on April 29, 2006. Handled incoming media interest, private philanthropic aid, police assistance and safety, and served as liason to head office in San Diego.
