Initially Mark's position was Chief Technical Officer, but as the company grew Mark took on extra responsibility as a director of the company which entailled a broader responsibility including long term strategy

    Following the demise of Arrows Grand Prix, Mark moved to a similar position at McLaren overseeing stress analysis, composite design, materials and vehicle laboratories. Responsibilities at McLaren included crash analysis and development, stress analysis and testing/sign-off through laboratory tests. 7 post rig and simulator projects were also included in this department.

    Arrows Grand Prix International was a Formula One Team that operated from 1977-2002. Mark began his F2 career in Arrows, initially starting as a stress analyst, responsible for composite and metallic design. This position required expertise in finite element analysis, load case development, CAD and involved setting safety factors and rules for the design office to use for calculations. Following his position as a stress analyst Mark moved to the position of Senior Performance Vehicle Analyst, responsible

    Holden Special Vehicles - TWR Australia

    HSV is a niche automotive engineering company providing bespoke services such as customising vehicles for GM-Holden in Australia and taking on engineering projects typically too small to be handled internally at OEMs. Mark worked as a project engineer on the installation of a 2.5 litre powertrain into a standard GM-Holden vehicle for export to the Middle East.

    Borland Racing Developments

    Together with partner Michael Borland, Mark operated a Formula Ford racing car company which designed, manufactured and raced the Spectrum Formula Ford in Australia. After an unsuccessful attempt to sell cars in Asia, Mark moved to the UK to work in the motorsports industry before trying again in Formula One under the name Preston Racing. Spectrum successfully beat the strong international competition that had dominated the series for a decade previously. The cars went on to win several Australian title

    General Motors - Holden

    Mark worked on the first crash analysis simulations used on production vehicles in Australia. At the time software such as LS-Dyna were in their infancy and analysis was still carried out on mainframes with "dumb" CAD terminals. Cloud computing in the early days! Mark covered areas such as: stress analysis, crash worthiness, simulation and project engineering.

    Tieman Industries

    Mark worked on the design and engineering of dangerous goods tankers such as fuel, bitumen and hydrogen peroxide. Being highly volatile products the tankers were designed to international standards.
