Mascha Deikova

Sci-Fi drama Status Quo was my master graduation project, which I was creating together with my university colleagues. Now our movie is in the post production phase but we're nearly finished and will apply to the different festivals next year. This film addresses issues that come with a rapid technological advance. How will this affect us as humans? How will our future look like if we loose ourselves in technology?

Working as a radio presenter helped me to become stress resistant, fast at reacting and always positive. Due to this long experience I was able to learn how to communicate with different people, how to present myself and how to pitch projects and topics that are important to me. All these skills help me very much in my current role as a film director.

Working as a journalist helped me to improve my research skills and my ability to examine the topic from all sides. It was also very useful to learn how to interview people in different situations. These communication skills combined with my filmmaking knowledge are the perfect combination for directing documentaries as well.
