In industry methanol is produced from syngas, which is an energy consuming process. The direct partial oxidation of methane to methanol is a more efficient route, but total combustion to COx is difficult to avoid. Zeolites provide a spatial confinement similar to the enzymes. In particular, transition metal e.g. Fe, Ni, Co, Cu exchanged zeolites are proven to be active in the methane-to-methanol conversion.

"On the thermal effect on the laminar flame propagation in gas/particles dusts: an experimental study" The stage was a part of the RADIAN project, whose goal is to describe the contribution of thermal radiation in the propagation of metallic powder explosions. This work belongs to the experimental part of the project. It was required to develop a method to measure the most important proprieties to characterize a flame (heat flux density, laminar combustion velocity and flame temperature).
