Director of the German-Egyptian progress project, a capacity building project to empower the computational biology and bioinformatics research, sponsored by the DAAD.

Heading the the integrative Omics Analysis group that is focused on performing data-specific analyses of heterogenous NGS-based experiments as well as developing new integrative methods either based on network approaches or based on machine-learning techniques. Recently we started also to integrate imaging data with related genomic data to unravel molecular mechansims underlying imaging phenotypes.

-Bioinformatic research on precision medicine, biological data integration, ALL development, comprensive NGS data analysis, Parkinson's disease and identifying synergistic drug combinations. -Teaching activities ( clinical bioinformatics courses for biotechnology and medical students). -Fund acquisition. -Supervising research projects of PhD and MS.c students.
