At the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) I was working in the department of Translational Oncology, section of Molecular and Gene Therapy. During my work at DKFZ I was able to improve my laboratory skills especially in Cloning, Transformation, PCR purification, cDNA synthesis and DNA/ RNA isolation. Furthermore, I practiced working in the cell culture to thaw cells and to subculture them. I was also able to study the method of LAM-PCR to determine the exact integration position of a gene.

At Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine I was working on the project: Synthetic Alkaloid Enzymology, Repurposing Polyketide Synthases for Alkaloid Biosynthesis. We used polyketide synthases to create a polyketide library. For my case of studies I used a wide range of alkaloids as educt to generate potential clinical important drugs or anti-aging, antifungals, antimicrobial and anticancer agents.

My research topic was about the e-commercialization of drugstores in China. Based on the american model, where the recipe from the doctor may direct to the online drugstore directly and medicine were able to purchase online. We took into consideration whether this model may be suitable for the Chinese market as well.

I was able to attend courses in UROPS Research, Enzyme Biology and Tumor Biology.
