Prof. Dr. Reinhard Jahn hosted me a guest scientist in his department (Neurobiology), to support me during the transition from my doctoral position to the postdoc position. In this phase, I focused on completing my doctoral thesis and manuscripts while getting to know the new lab and reading the literature for my postdoctoral project.

Bachelor thesis project on ‘Analysis of differential gene expression in rice under drought stress: a transcriptomic approach’, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kunal Mukhopadhyay at the Department of Bio-Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, INDIA. Bioanalytical methods included RNA extraction from rice plants, reverse transcription, real-time PCR, Northern Blots, etc.

Second bachelors project on ‘In silico study of adaptive molecular evolution of HA, NS and PB2 virulence genes of the Avian Influenza Virus A subtype H5N1 from avian and human hosts using translational selection’, under the guidance of Dr. Raju Poddar at the department of Bio-Engineering Birla Institute of Technology, INDIA.
