Founding member of Nokia R&D Lab in Silicon Valley, Palo Alto. Emphasis on partner co-creation, incubation, stage gate funding, entrepreneurship leadership and activities adjacent to current Nokia business. Chief Strategist in the Office of the CTO repeated, successful creation of Nokia’s annual, multi-disciplinary, 7 year research strategy. Rolled out over an 800 person organization, 5 continents, 100MEuro / year.

Directed Nokia wide Performance Engineering program. As program manager, delivered tools and analysis for handset optimization to business unit programs. Established technology exploration activities including WiMax and 3GPP LTE access protocols as the basis for Nokia’s first LTE handset product development. Executed large development and rollout projects in collaboration with offshore cooperation partner Flextronics Software Systems. Establishing and controlling an off shore team of 20 engineers in India

Sony delegate to WCDMA 3GPP standardisation. Responsible for L2 - L3 standardisation and IPR creation. Holder of 5 key patents in 3GPP WCDMA area. Leading development of prototype 3G WCDMA terminal.
