The objective of the thesis is to explore the capabilities of additive manufacturing with the goal of performace enhancement of the current heat exchangers in aerospace industry. The reference model is the fuel submerged heat exchanger of the A350 XWB. Thesis includes detailed feasibility studies of current heat exchangers in the aerospace industry, developing of design solutions, manufacturing via Selective Laser Melting and performance testing of the most promising designs.
