- Lead the R&D projects team and manage activities within German & EU funded R&D projects with a total budget of ~2.0 Mio Euros - Organize & support scale-up production & validation of electrodes with new coating formulations - Scout for new applications & technologies and network with research partners & potential customers - Represent R&D team at scientific conferences & customer meetings

- Prepare & supply lab-scale electrode samples, based on the current product portfolio or newly developed coatings, to external project partners & customers for evaluation - Adapt/optimize coating recipes for new production methods and to conform with new EHS standards - Support activities to assess, validate, procure & commission new electrode production equipment; create SOP/work instruction documents & organize operator training

- Investigated hydrogen evolution reaction kinetics on metal electrodes in acid/alkaline media - Characterized novel catalysts for alkaline and PEM electrolysis using thin film/MEA electrodes - Optimized a flow-cell coupled to ICP-OES setup for online corrosion analysis

Doctoral Thesis: Influence of Electrode Structure and Measurement Parameters on the Electrocatalytic Alkaline Water Oxidation - Optimized catalyst inks & thin film electrode coatings for oxygen evolution (OER) - Prototyped a scalable electrochemical flow-cell for thin film electrode analysis - Developed components for operando/post-mortem analysis of thin film electrodes - Supported electrochemical test protocol development & definition of electrode KPI

- Investigated bulk properties & thermal stability of different ionic liquid-based electrolyte formulations - Analysed & Compared different combination of graphite materials and electrolyte formulations in battery half-cells for lithiation & cyclability under moderate & elevated temperature conditions - Analysed solid electrolyte interface (SEI) layer formation at the graphite anode with EIS, FTIR & Raman - Analysed reaction/degradation products from the SEI layer formation with online GC & FTIR

- Designed & prototyped a radiation shield component for a new dental X-ray sensor - Coordinated with suppliers & manufacturers during first scale-up production trials - Designed & Developed test rigs for lifetime & failure mode testing of components - Assisted mechanical engineering team in product development/validation projects

- Performed failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) on precision pressure regulators and collaborated with Quality department to improve product reliability - Optimized product assembly and testing protocols and trained production staff on best practices that reduced lead time and product failure in the assembly line
