Planning and implementing bilateral technical cooperation projects in the field of Intellectual Property Rights, innovation promotion, and private sector development for the Swiss Confederation (duration 3 – 5 years; budget 0,5 – 2 mio. CHF). Direct responsibility for cooperation projects with Indonesia, Peru, Myanmar, El Salvador, Viet Nam. Delivery of in-depth trainings and expert input on differentiation, intellectual property, and sustainability strategies for coffee, cocoa, and other value chains.

Monitoring of SDC’s Climate Change Adaptation projects in rural areas and research on climate change adaptation and mitigation measures of different countries in the Andean region. Recommendations for a new climate change related project for SDC in the area of climate change mitigation Participation in negotiations on ‘National Adaptation Plans’ and ‘Loss and Damage’ of the COP-20 Conference Production of documents, papers, and guidelines for the official Swiss delegation as well as media dossiers

Improvement of a sustainable tourism project in Ethiopia with additional modules that contribute to rural development. Building partnerships with tour operators and NGOs.

Evaluation of and suggestion for potential partner countries for bilateral cooperation in research and technology for development (mandate of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI). Co-organisation of the international conference on technologies for development (UNESCO Chair EPFL, 2013).

Market study on tourism potential in the UNESCO Geopark Dong Van / Ha Giang. Development of a tourism concept, incl. benefit-sharing mechanism, decision-making process, and products and services. Advisory for the government on sustainable tourism policy. Coordination of tourism project implementation: development of an operational plan and monitoring system, facilitation of special skills trainings, support of a community-based tourism management board.

Finalisation of a market study on ‘Investment in Biomass Energy Production in Indonesia’. Assessment of the potential to convert Indonesia’s biomass (agriculture and plantation industry) into biogas, biofuel, and electricity. Elaboration of suggestions re. opportunities for foreign investment in green energy.

Assessments and recommendations on economic development potentials in Papuan villages, focusing on the agriculture and tourism. Coordination of the ‘International Conference on Papuan Cultural Diversity’ to strengthen Papuan cultural heritage and enhance sustainable development: Recruitment and structuring of the organising committee of the conference; coordination of the experts of UNDP and UNESCO; elaboration of the concept and input to work plan, budget, and final recommendations for the conference.
