Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain responsibility for large investment projects for BASF outside Europe (e.g. Asia). Spearheads key commercial negotiations with potential JV partners, including comprehensive market research, feasibility studies, business plans and forecasting. Works across sales, marketing, procurement, strategy, supply and logistics, including global coordination role among all involved BASF business units and functions.

Leads 4 strategic business units with sales and revenue responsibility for >USD500M combined turnover for Asia Basic Petrochemicals Business and JVs, Propylene Oxide Business, as well as Olefin Procurement for BASF in Asia Pacific (total ~1M tonnage). Spearheads key commercial negotiations incl. new investment projects, M&A deals and drives business development, including sales & marketing, comprehensive market research, feasibility studies and forecasting.

Challenged to drive large-scale restructuring of >USD300M sales organization for part of the Intermediates division in Europe, incl. Eastern Europe, Arabia and Africa to improve organizational effectiveness. Led up to 10-member inter-regional project team, successfully positioning business for growth with improved market alignment and scalability.

Took on business operations role with P&L responsibility for acids and related product unit of BASF’s billion-dollar Intermediates division which produces and markets >700 products used in coatings, plastics, pharmaceuticals, textiles and others. Held cross-functional leadership for marketing, sales, logistic and supply chain, planning & strategy, business development and control across Europe, South America, Africa and Arabia.

Part of a global team charged with development and implementation of stage gate process for USD1.5B BASF spend on R&D, which was successfully deployed Group-wide. Worked with steering boards, business owners, project gatekeepers, technical teams as well as internal and external consultants to develop change management plans leading to business focus, innovation and excellence. Reported directly to the respective Board Member of BASF Group R&D.

Improved production effectiveness and efficiency for global engineering projects valued at >USD300M spanning multiple industries incl. petrochemicals, agrochemicals, nutrition, intermediates and inorganics in countries including China, Germany, USA and Korea.
