Digital sales is a rapidly growing business model for PAYBACK. At the Berlin site, there is a cross-functional team of Business, Product & Tech (also called Crew), which has holistic responsibility (you build it, you run it) for its products .
As a Senior Data Engineer at PAYBACK, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our future cloud based data products on GCP.
YOUR TASKS
- You design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes on GCP
- You optimize data processing efficiency and performance using modern tools and techniques
- You collaborate with data engineers from other crews to understand technical requirements and share best practices
- You ensure adherence to data quality standards
- You implement data governance policies and procedures to protect sensitive data
- You drive and support the migration of existing on-prem data products to the cloud (GCP)
- You ensure a seamless transition and optimize cloud-based infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency
TECH STACK
- Python, Oracle PL/SQL, Airflow and Git
- Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Java, and Kafka
- Google Cloud Services ( BigQuery , Cloud Build, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, DataFlow )
- Nice to have: Datadog and Jenkins
YOUR PROFILE
- You have several years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
- You have strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
- Great analytical skills, a structured way of working and a proactive approach to solving complex problems characterize you
- You can work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- You are passionate about data-driven innovation and committed to delivering high-quality results
