For my Master’s thesis at Sonceboz, I developed an actuator dedicated to interaction robotics, with a focus on impedance control. I was responsible for the full development process: from mechanical design and integration of a BLDC motor, to control implementation and system validation. I designed and modeled the actuator in CAD, implemented control algorithms, and created a custom GUI to control the actuator in real time. I then conducted experimental validation to assess performance and robustness.

In this role, I contributed to the “Force Profile Adjustable KBD Switch” project, focusing on exploring new design concepts. I collaborated closely with the Sensor and Actuation team, brainstorming novel approaches and validating their feasibility. To support the design process, I created simulations in Python to dimension mechanisms and developed buildable models using the CREO CAD software. I then fabricated prototypes, and assessed their performance against expected values.
