Caused by a temporary health impairment mid of 2024, I decided to take a break from my job until I'm fully recovered. Now I'm feeling great again and I'm back.

As Head of National Infrastructure at 1&1 Mobilfunk in Düsseldorf, Germany, I reported to the C-Level. My core responsibility was managing the nationally working infrastructure providers and the related team at 1&1. That means gaining rental contracts with owners of suitable radio loccation, building 1&1 radio sites on those locations in whole Germany and expanding the business with additional partners.

As part of the global umlaut Group, the subsidiary umlaut solutions supports customers with management & process know-how and expertise on telecommunications and IT for private industries and public authorities. Dirk manages projects in telecoms and IT, usually on management level. He supported various operators & manufacturers, e.g. Nokia, a Belgium opco, Vodafone Germany, Lufthansa and a fiber network operator on business developmt, IT Resilience, IT Continuity Mgmt and network/redundancy optimisation.

Support P3 communication in further developing innovations and strategies for its own development and for customers in all areas of the broad telecommunication world. In parallel active consulting as Technology Security Programme Manager reporting to C-level for a global mobile network operator in Germany. Main programme topics: Achieving network resilience and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

Leading a unit advising companies, authorities and organisations on technical and strategic challenges based on a broad knowledge in telecommunications and related or adjacent areas such as transport, logstics, automotive or regulatory topics

Reporting to CTO. Business and technical analysyis of new development in mobile communications, frequency mgmt.., M&A projects, support of telecoms regulation, patent mgmt., international standardisation, technical trials (eg LTE, WiFi, small cells), university reaearch programs, ...
