Standard-setting responsibility among the bank’s risk management functions regarding forbearance, loan loss provisioning and the group-wide definition of default. Individually responsible for a comprehensive review of the internal forbearance framework; documented findings and recommended actions in a comprehensive report subsequently discussed with the Joint Supervisory Team (JST). Played a key role in drafting written responses to follow-up questions from the JST for a meeting I also attended.

Strategic development of the bank's COO & IT functions in close collaboration with senior management. Completion of research tasks in direct support of the COO & coordination of COO Management Board meetings. Setup of bank-wide strategic programmes with a particular focus on KPI definition and tracking as well as financial steering. Joint development and coordination of key strategic documents across multiple executive areas (e.g. Capital Markets Update, Group Business Strategy).

Completed international placement (USA) as part of liquidity risk management & treasury audit: personally responsible for auditing liquidity risk management processes at Commerzbank New York Branch, focusing on local liquidity risk limitation, reporting and contingency procedures as well as the implementation of US regulatory standards and the Global Functional Lead (GFL) principle. Team member on several (model) risk management audits in the area of liquidity, market and counterparty risk. Additional placements on internal audit of strategic management and governance of sustainability as well as audit action-tracking (follow up). Trainee rotations in: - Corporate Strategy (Sep - Dec 2023) and - Liquidity Risk Analysis & Reporting and Governance (Jan - Feb 2024). References available on request.
