Thomas Lachmann

During the last semester of my Bachelor program at the University of Schmalkalden I was working as a research assistant of Prof. Dr. Beiwinkel, head of the Chair of Finance.

After finishing my pprenticeship program and achieving my certificate from Banking School in January 2011, I was working fulltime as a customer advisor (private investments, loan advising, insurances) at the Savings Bank Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg. During that period I obtained a lot of experience in personal consultancy as well as significantly improved my "Soft Skills" (communication and interpersonal skills).

During my Master programme at the University of Hohenheim I was doing a semester abroad at the Lisbon School of Economics & Management. My study at this university focused on the field of Banking & Finance.

In August 2016 I joined the summer university program about the topic 'Understanding Russian Economy in Context of Crisis' at the campus in Nizhny Novgorod. For that program I was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in form of a scholarship.

Within this study program in International Business and Economics at the University of Hohenheim I am strenghtening my academic knowledge in the fields of Banking & Finance, International Management as well as International Economics.

At this university I joined a summer university program about Belarus as a transition country between the EU and Russia. Our team consisted of 10 German and 10 Belarussian students. We were investigating the current role of Belarus as well as working on a plan how position the country in future.

At the University of Lethbridge, Canada, I was doing a semester abroad during my main Bachelor programme at the University of Applied Sciences in Schmalkalden, Germany. My focus was on the field of international Management.

Within my Bachelor program I gained basic economic knowledge. Those theoretical skills were complemented by practical experiences and intercultural competences due to university-based exchange programs, such as an semester abroad in Canada and an university project in Belarus.
