• Responsible for the global governance of Group Procurement as well as the development and implementation of digital solutions in Sourcing, Risk Management, Supplier Management and Financial Reporting with a team of 23 professionals. • Manage the transformation of the function including the reengineering of our core processes, the accelerated development of required solution on existing technology platforms and the design of future interfaces with the business service teams in 3 locations.
• Accountability for the three main value drivers (Financial Contribution, Supply Security & Supplier Market Innovation) of Group Procurement. Together with experts, we developed the strategy and drove its implementation to achieve the highest and broadest possible value contribution for the business at Merck. • After Merck developed its sustainability strategy in 2020, we implemented the first measures and systems to create transparency in the supply chain (e.g. conflict minerals).
• Accountable to develop concepts, methodologies, and processes for Supplier Management, Risk Management, Sustainability, and Insights & Analytics to realize Procurement’s value creation strategy • Develop Procurement’s digital strategy and its implementation in strategic projects (e.g., Supplier to Customer transparency – E2E data transparency). • Leading a team of 10 experts located in DE, US, ES and CH.
• Responsible to develop and shape the transformation process to establish Merck’s Supplier Enabled Innovation program to enable value creation for the business. • Supported the realization of multiple digitalization lighthouse projects establishing relationships between specific sourcing categories and the Merck Innovation Ecosystem. • Co-created and realized the ‘Merck Curiosity Box’ with 11 external partners for innovative packaging solutions combined with AR elements and smart packaging solutions.
