Fiammetta Longo

I performed scientific research in Italian linguistics and text linguistics as team member of a research project financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation and taught Italian language and linguistics in university-level classes. I also performed various administrative and academic work alongside research and teaching (editing, proofreading, event organization, general administrative support).

I provided assistance to users in two university libraries and a university study hall and worked alongside librarians to manage the book inventory.

As an Italian language teacher intern, I taught Italian as a second language in a middle school to small groups of students with different levels of proficiency. I also scheduled the teaching activities, planned the syllabus and acted as a point of contact between the school teachers, the school management and the association providing Italian language courses.

My doctoral research dealt with the functions and the semantics of punctuation in modern Italian from a text linguistics perspective, with a focus on the dash.
