Seeking new role after summer sabbatical following successful trade sale of my previous company

Inserted by VCs to manage recovery of failing business. Turned round business performance leading to successful trade sale to Amdocs.

Managed European sales operations including transitions to new owners after sale of business.

Jointly responsible for starting Rubus, an internet specialist consulting company, and building the business from scratch including raising initial VC funds, sitting on the Board of Directors, recruiting staff of all disciplines, generating and closing sales, managing customers, etc. Rubus failed to float in 2000 when the Internet bubble burst.

Starting as a Sales Account Manager, rose to Regional Director. Created and built the UK Communications and Media Business Unit establishing a dominant position as database supplier to the telecomms industry. Finished with 1 year as European Sales Director of Oracle's Global Communications Busines Unit.

New salesman entry after moving from Civil Engineering where I was a Chartered Engineer designing road bridges. Completed period with ICL as Senior Account Manager for CHOTS, having won the first secure office system project for the UK Ministry of Defence. Worth 10's of £m then it has generated >£1bn since for the ICL led consortium.
