Self-employment in a rehabilitative canine training business. The business involved consultations with canine owners with aggressive or fearful canines & development of training schedules and routines.

Summer/Seasonal position assisting researching in the Plant Pathology unit studying disease in regional crops. Position involved working within a biosecure laboratory, greenhouses and remote field locations.

Seasonal position involving safe and welfare focused handling of alpacas for shearing and annual health checks. Alpacas were herded, haltered and restrained for shearing, administration of vaccines and preventative medications and hoof trimming.

Farrowing and health technician in a commercial swine research facility. Daily rounds of the facility, feeding, cleaning and administration of medications and supplements, rotating livestock and sanitation. Medical procedures such as artificial insemination, tail docking, castration and euthanasia were also carried out.

Morning and weekend milking and feeding shifts. Use of machinery to mix and distribute feed throughout the dairy, milking a herd of 20-30 holsteins followed by sanitation of equipment and cleaning stalls.

Student Intern Position involving data entry, preparation of importation and exportation documents for seed and crop samples. Additional training and involvement in seed identification and sorting for further testing prior to import/export paperwork. Field sample collection of invasive species samples.
