• Read 50 chapbook manuscripts (typically 20-40 pages in length) within the space of one month and determine which of these manuscripts, if any, should advance to the next round of judging. These manuscripts may be poetry, prose, or a combination of prose and poetry manuscripts. • Once the ten finalists have been selected, evaluate each of the finalist manuscripts individually and make recommendations with regards to which manuscript(s) should win the Fall River Chapbook Competition.

• Read and evaluated unpublished manuscripts of poetry and/or mixed-genre writing submitted by writers to Black Lawrence Press’s December 2017 manuscript consultation period. • Provided suggestions for improvment by inserting comments directly into manuscripts. • Wrote editorial letters for each submitted manuscript summing up strengths and areas for further development.

• Worked individually and as part of a team to produce one of the best issues the journal had as yet produced. Regularly read and evaluated unsolicited submissions independently and also worked with team members to forward submissions that deserved further readership. • Reviewed assigned texts for the journal’s blog and sought out and reviewed additional texts that reflected Anomaly’s mission statement.

• Conducted initial telephone interviews with prospective clients for bankruptcy/tax/debt settlement law practice. Used critical thinking skills to ask key follow-up questions. Wrote detailed reports of each interview for supervisor. • Created physical and electronic files for new clients according to firm’s established guidelines. • Maintained attorneys’ and paralegals’ schedules. • Successfully balanced reception and administrative assistant duties. • Data entry using internal TimeMatters database.

• Tasks included cashiering, pricing, and restocking books, all while offering excellent customer service. Devised new category standards to assist staff while shelving books and helped fulfill orders for the FOL Amazon Marketplace business.

• Manuscripts completed include Letters to Quince (novella), published by Artistically Declined Press in 2015, The New Sorrow Is Less Than The Old Sorrow (poetry), published by Black Lawrence Press in 2015, and The History Worker (poetry), forthcoming from Black Lawrence Press in 2017.

• Mastered Borders’ computer applications to find specific titles for customers and place customer orders, drove sales using product knowledge to offer recommendations and suggest additional items, and met deadlines individually and as part of merchandising team to roll out required weekly display changes. • Distinguished Service Award winner for December 2006.

• Planned weekly lessons that consistently adhered to the college’s philosophy of active learning through the Socratic method. • Led class discussion centered around assigned readings to highlight how individual authors developed and supported theses in order to ensure composition students gained competency in writing college essays. • Graded papers, provided written feedback, and met individually with students to discuss drafts and revisions.
