Senior Systems Engineer and Team Leader, working primarily on build tasks. Transformation of the organizations' legacy infrastructure into a modern, virtualized, 10GB backbone blade architecture with greenfield data center builds. We established lifecycle management, build and declarative state automation with Puppet, VMware and RedHat. We also designed and implemented completely new regional comms, data center infrastructure, and disaster recovery systems for the organization during my time in this role.

Pure Linux environment of about 50 servers. Standard sysadmin tasks around run and build, as well as DBA and security duties. Tasks included release management, CentOS & Debian server admin. MySQL DBA, IPTables & Snort IDS administration, Bash and Perl scripting, ITSM monitoring with Nagios, HA configurations with UltraMonkey & ldirectord. Tomcat & Apache admin, Mail services via Postfix - Amavisd – SpamAssassin, coordination the execution of outages, scheduled maintenances, root cause analysis, etc.

Project Manager and primary contact for our clients in all aspects of laboratory services. Managed end-to-end process of sample collection / shipping / testing / data QA for Soil (sludge and sediments), Water (waste water, groundwater, surface water, process water, drinking water, ballast water, sea water), Waste (hazardous waste, industrial waste) and Sewage. Performed a wide variety of ETL scripting with Python, SED & AWK in order to provide the final output of our Electronic Data Deliverables (EDD).
