Developed the global process for Information Lifecycle Governance fully integrated with existing Novartis Policies and GxP Quality Manuals to help 100’000+ Novartis associates manage their data, information and records from creation to final disposition in a compliant, secure and efficient manner.

Special Assignment. Served as the IT Lead for a newly created TPRM organization. Designed its technology strategy. Mobilized and directed solution delivery projects partnering with IT delivery teams, external service providers and GxP Quality Assurance. Contributed to operationalizing the organization on time fulfilling external commitments.

Special Assignment. IT Business Partnering for the Records Management (RM) program to help the program develop a technology plan and roadmap. Took over and successfully delivered a $3.0m RM technology platform project which was failing to deliver since 2 years prior to my taking it over.

Represented IT to the Ethics, Compliance & Policy global function taking accountability for any technology matter that includes strategy development, demand management, solution discovery & delivery, service management, risk management and vendor management, collaborating with other IT business partners and delivery teams.

Special assignment. Managed a full portfolio of programs and projects for highly complex and demanding Headquarters (HQ) IT functions including significant REFS IT from demand intake to value realization. Redesigned the end-to-end portfolio management process for simplicity, transparency and improved governance.

Led and managed complex and large business change programs and projects from conception to completion, partnering with businesses, leading project staff and internal delivery teams, maintaining control over progress and budget, managing external service providers, and engaging with stakeholders and influencers including C-level executives.

Led migration of the outdated Global Data Center into two new state-of-the-art Global Data Operation Centers (DOC) managing 25 migration analysts, IBM delivery teams and a USD 27 million budget, coordinating activities across 6 divisions and multiple technologies, and driving DOC virtualization and application portfolio rationalization.

On the completion of BASF’s acquisition of Ciba in April 2009, assumed leadership for integrating Ciba E-Commerce operations (IT systems, business partners, and service providers) into BASF. Led a global core team of 12 people and a multi-million EUR budget.

Led strategy, implementation, operations and continual improvements of two global Centers of Excellence (CoE’s), an Application Integration CoE and an Offshore Development Center (ODC) for SAP custom applications, managing 5 internal and 17 on- and off-shore external experts.

Directed a corporate initiative to establish B2B e-Commerce with large global key business partners (customers, suppliers and distributers) coordinating priorities across 4 divisions; led 10 people at 3 locations (CH, US and SG) and an annual operational budget of CHF 2.5 million managing an external B2B hub service provider.
