Vincent Nöthen

As senior consultant I am responsible for the development and operations of cloud native products and managing client relationships in agile project environments. Currently I act as a product owner for the development of a digital service platform in the automotive after-sales space. The product vision focuses on the lead management of telematic data from connected vehicles. I lead a team of 12 people (architect, scrum master, developer) and hold the financial responsibility (>2m EUR pa).

As associate consultant, I started my journey in the global IoT head quarter in Munich. Within my work I focused on collaborating with customers on first-of-a-kind solutions in the IoT space: starting with user research applying design thinking, performing technology enablement and building proof-of-concepts. I typically acted as a product owner/agile project manager in these engagements.

In May 2017 I got reelected as a federal board member of the network of students and young engineers, which represents 45,000+ members within the Association for German Engineers. Within my role I support the work of 80+ local teams aiming to grow our network and share knowledge. I'm honored being eligible to represent our network as representative in the scientific council, on of the highest board within the association.

The Digital Business Unit of Viessmann gave me the opportunity to innovate a corporate strategy for the future integrating of usage data into the product development within my master's thesis at the chair for product development. My work will be the foundation for big data analytics and will have great impact on the design process of industrial heating hardware components.

Living, travelling and working in Iran has been one of the most precious experiences during my studies. During my internship, shortly after the lifting of the economic sanctions, I've been responsible for a profound market intelligence study for key markets in Iran utilizing the know-how of local employees, external consultancies and reports.

During my six months as a working student in the Business Unit Mechatronic Systems at Siemens Corporate Technology, I've been working on a business plan for a human-like robotic hand with tactile sensing based on a novel piezo-hydraulic actuation principle for the internal technology incubator next47.

I supported the sales and marketing activities of Rain for Rent International at the IFAT trade fair in Munich, which is the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management.

Within my experience as a working student at Linde Engineering AG I could aggregate profound knowledge about the petrochemical industry. My tasks included the improvement of the development process of special parts in olefin plants by creating a guideline. I managed the communication with distributors and customers to investigate their demands and programmed a VBA based tool to estimate the nominal pipe diameter for steam traps.

I feel pleased having had the opportunity to perform my research thesis at the corporate technology and innovation department of Linde Gas AG. Within the business unit of energy production and storage I innovated a new high-temperature thermal energy storage concept in a conventional combined heat and power plant.

At the Institute for Energy Systems I gained first experience in the design and construction of a demonstration model to visualize two-phase flows phenomena in vertical evaporating tubes. Later within the national reserach project on the fexibilisation of thermal power plants, I engineered a safety system for supercritical steams of a high-pressure evaporator.

What a memorable time I had in South Africa. Sponsored my the German government, I performed my volunteering service at the non-governmental organisation Refugee Social Services, a legal partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in Durban, which is South Africa's third biggest city. I've been held responsible for the registration of refugees in a database and administrated their admission documents for naturalization and consulted in administrative processes.

During the granted internship by the German ministry of research and technology, which has been co-organized by Prof. Eberhard Schmidt, University of Wuppertal, two fellow students and I were responsible to optimise the regeneration process of a baghouse filtration system by investigating the pressure distribution of different injector types in a self-constructed test rig.
