Responsible for setting business strategy. Reporting to the Global Head of Commercial Development and working with Marketing, Sales, Business Planning, IP and Legal Broad responsibilities include: • Leading and managing the commercial process to introduce new and improved offerings, including providing commercial focus • Setting the strategic plan for Lonza’s business unit, • Leading strategic projects

Co-Development of key account strategies & account plans with the respective key account teams Development of communication strategies (internal and external) and customer interaction models Development and expansion of the global key account management concept and refinement of methods for account assessment and targeting (e.g. market analysis, customer segmentation and customer attractiveness reviews) Account performance tracking within the yearly review cycle process

Main functions of the department: 1) Sample and material management, including procurement and shipment for development laboratories and projects. 2) Acquisition, qualification, maintenance and life cycle monitoring of laboratory equipment ensuring high levels of compliance 3) Management of the infrastructure and facilities, including laboratories, as well as, office space 4) Management of the financial resources not directly related to projects and personal (i.e. Investments) 5) HSE Management for R&D

Direction of a technical team with up to 10 professionals within the frame of development activities Management of international development projects and complex technology transfer activities Coordination of all project related activities from project idea to market launch worldwide Budgeting, capacity and finance planning for complex development projects Project controlling and reporting including strategic analysis

Direction of a development laboratory with up to 5 associates including capacity planning and performance evaluation of the scientific and technical staff Design and revision of analytical documents for registration of biopharmaceutical products Compilation and interpretation of data from pre-clinical studies according to GMP guidelines Direction and coordination of analytical activities for development projects (development, validation and transfer, as well as, characterization and release)

Development of novel synthetic monoliths for high efficiency separation of small molecules, as well as, microextraction approaches for the quantification of drugs of abuse in biological matrixes.

Development of novel proteomics tools for biomarker discovery Methods used: HPLC, PAGE, CE, affinity chromatography, mass spectrometry (MALDI, LC/MS
