Member of the UN Standby Team of Senior Mediation Advisers working to support peace process around the world providing training, consulting, mediation design, and peace related support.

I am currently the senior expert responsible for streamlining and promoting the institutes approach to mediation and dialogue. In this position, I advise embassies, NGOs, conflict actors and USIP field offices and country teams. I also train on mediation and conflict resolution more broadly.

Development, promotion and implementation of projects related to mediation support, Track II Diplomacy, conflict prevention, training and standards. Working with EUSRs, political leaders, decision-makers, civil servants and NGOs representatives. Currently accompanying the establishment of the European Institute of Peace through the creating of mediation building blocks, developing a political dialogue in Egypt and promoting inter-ethnic dialogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Since 2002 I teach a course on negotiation and mediation theory and practice. The course covers issues such as bargaining, the Harvard method, trust, multilateral negotiations, gender, emotions, and fairness. The course also includes a real life simulation of an interethnic conflict. Topics of interest: human rights, mediation, negotiation, conflict analysis, economic development, democratization, micro-credits and peace.

Teaching the theory and practice of negotiations to a multicultural student body. The course is taught in the winter term and covers theory, practice, simulation and the related topics.

Drove mediation efforts as Senior Mediator across all conflict regions and developed mediation strategy and training materials. Served as Chairperson and oversaw all of the organization’s work and finances, defined vision and operational goals, and communicated mission updates to members. Served as primary fundraiser, led quarterly Board meetings, and directed annual assembly meetings.

Performed strategic conflict analyses for divided communities and target regions, managed relations with international missions, and strategized mediation efforts. Prepared drafts of mediation agreements, speeches, mission logistics, pre-mediation dialogue and political communications.
