The InChI Trust is a nonprofit charity which works to develop and promote the use of the IUPAC InChI open-source chemical structure representation algorithm. The InChI with its associated InChIKey was developed as a non-proprietary international standard to represent chemical structures and has just celebrated its tenth anniversary. The Trust aims to develop and improve on the current InChI standard, further enabling the interlinking of chemistry and chemical structures on the web.

Leading the product management and development team of Elsevier’s digital chemistry solutions portfolio - including its flagship product Reaxys - providing data-driven decision support based on chemistry information and analytics. Responsible for overall strategy, roadmap and innovation driven by agile and scrum methods for software development, design thinking principles and web and data analytics.

Member of the leadership team of Advanced Analytics, a EUR 500 million business field of Merck Millipore the Life Science division of Merck. Responsible for the strategic transformation shifting focus toward innovation driving implementation of new innovation fields and franchise strategies and leading entire change management activities for the business field.

Focus on strategy and new business development projects for Merck Serono, Merck Millipore and Group Functions, including: strategic planning process of the Global Business Franchise Oncology, development of a business plan and strategy for the venture capital funds “Merck Serono Ventures 2.0”, development of business field strategies for Merck Millipore, organizational set-up of the commercial region Lab Americas.

Leading a start-up project in the field of bio-nanotechnology at Max-Planck-Institute of Intelligent Systems.

Focus on innovation, strategy and business development in the pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnological industry; projects include among others: implementation of a new global market access organization and processes for a global pharmaceutical company, support of a major pharmaceutical company in R&D efficiency and innovation, review of the internal innovation and IP process for the cultures & enzymes division of a food ingredients company.

Bio-applications of microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technologies: single-cell studies in picoliter-droplets; co-operation with RainDance Technologies, Lexington (USA). Co-inventor of one patent (WO/2009/134395) and co-author of three peer-reviewed publications in the field of microfluidics.
