The Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BICoE) at the European Patent Office acts as an enabler for a variety of BI services to the organization's business units. BICoE trains, coaches and consults internal staff around data analysis and BI technologies and services such as SAS data warehouse, Tableau, Qlik, balanced score card and many more. We also manage the internal BI and data warehouse infrastructure and provide an interface to EPO's machine learning and data science group.

Managing a major external service contract for infrastructure operations of EPO's UNIX-based and database systems.

Managing a major, multi-million EUR contract to deliver products and services for mission critical, public patent information systems. Defining product road maps and release cycles in close cooperation with multiple internal business units. Collaborating with other domain managers to establish a unified program management approach utilizing ITIL standards and Agile methods.

Managed several sub-projects within a major initiative to unify a diversified landscape of solutions and tools for supporting patent search and examination under one single case management system (CMS).

Managed several projects and development teams for the implementation and maintenance of internal and external products and services for intellectual property data management, utilizing PRINCE2 and Agile methods (Scrum Master). Worked in close cooperation with product management on product road maps, requirements and functional analysis, architecture reviews and release cycles.

Managed the implementation of a standard workflow tool for patent administration in collaboration with international patent offices. Led the requirements process for redesigning the tool’s user interface and the definition of the implementation procedure. Managed the delivery process including requirements analysis and implementation in collaboration with local offices’ business and technical representatives.
